Working with children

The creative workshops are specifically for people who work with children, teachers, health care professionals, child carers and those working in caring roles.

The Working with Children workshop is specially designed using knowledge and techniques taken from over 15 years experience of using art to work with children and child workers in health, education and social services.

The workshop has been put together to assist the adult in viewing situations from the child's perspective and therefore helping to create an understanding of the child's way of thinking and perception of his surroundings.

The workshop gives insights into how using art can encourage confidence and self worth in children, which in turn can support their progress in the classroom and therefore benefit their lives overall.

The one day workshop is a basic introduction to using art whilst working with children, consisting of practical work and discussion.

The two day workshop is spread over two weeks and goes into greater depth, allowing the participants to use ideas and techniques in their workplace and bring feedback back to the group for discussion.

Participants are often funded by their place of work.
