What do these age-old stories signify? What deeper meanings do they possess?

Take a mature and spellbinding look at the meanings hidden in traditional stories with this unusual two day workshop, during which we revisit our rich heritage of fairytales and story telling in order to illuminate the hidden meanings that were perhaps glossed over when we were young.

The workshop allows us to take a closer look at these powerful and poignant stories to reveal much more than a simple formula of abuse and retribution. The trials encountered by the heroes in their quests, illustrate the process of transformation - youth to adult, victim to hero, passivity to action.

For centuries artists have known about and used the particular power of folk tales in their symbolic portrayal of all the darkness and brightness that life has to offer.

Participants are invited to bring along a folk tale, story or picture that they find particularly interesting or inspiring.

Although it cannot be promised, at the end of the workshop, some participants may live happily ever after.

No previous artistic experience is necessary to fully participate and enjoy this workshop.

This is a two day workshop with days from 10am to 4pm and included in the price are all materials, light lunches and hot & cold drinks. For information on how to find dates and prices view the contact us page.
