Coastal Creativity

Photograph of the surroundings

Be inspired by the beauty and space of the unspoilt Lincolnshire coastline.

Give yourself a relaxing break, try something different and spend two days enjoying the Coastal Creativity workshop.

Experience the freedom to draw and make patterns in the endless sand. Relax as you stroll along the shoreline and perhaps have a paddle in the sea, as you gather shells and other interesting objects from the sea shore then use them to create your own unique artworks both inside and out, in this unusual two day creative workshop.

The first day is spent on the beach discovering what can be done outside and working with the space, the elements and the objects that can be discovered on the shoreline. A photographic record is kept of all the art works that are created. Shells, pieces of driftwood and other interesting objects can be collected for use the next day.

The second day is spent working in the studio, where the previous day's photographs and collected objects are used as inspiration for more lasting art work to be created. Barbara has been working on beaches and sea shores with her artwork for over 30 years and she has designed the workshop to be enjoyable and fun for everyone. No previous artistic experience is necessary to fully participate.

The Coastal Creativity workshops take place from March to October and, apart from exceptional conditions, happen regardless of the weather.

This is a two day workshop with days from 10am to 4pm and included in the price are the journeys from the studio to the beach and back, all materials, light lunches and hot & cold drinks. For information on how to find dates and prices visit the contact us page.

Because of the nature of the Coastal Creativity workshops, it is not recommended for people with mobility difficulties.

The workshop is suitable for people of all artistic abilities. All activities are suitable for people over 12 years, although all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Families welcome.
